ThorSvecon Group divests Short Sea & Terminal business and appoints Daniel Berglind as Group CEO

  • ThorSvecon Group (TSG), owned by Accent Equity CV, has divested its Short Sea & Terminal business to HOI Holding
  • Following the transaction, TSG becomes a focused, asset-light logistics group centered on freight forwarding and port agency services
  • Daniel Berglind, previously Head of Global Forwarding, has been appointed Group CEO

ThorSvecon Group ("TSG") has completed the divestment of its Short Sea & Terminal business to HOI Holding, a company controlled by former TSG executives Eric Hjalmarsson and Thomas Bryan.

The transaction marks an important strategic milestone for TSG, transforming the group into a focused, asset-light logistics company specialising in freight forwarding and port agency services. Going forward, TSG will concentrate on further strengthening its market position through continued organic development and targeted acquisitions.

The Board of Directors believes that the Short Sea & Terminal business and the Global Forwarding business will benefit from operating under separate ownership structures, allowing each business to pursue its own strategic priorities with dedicated management focus.

"This transaction creates two businesses with distinct strategic profiles and strong opportunities for future growth. We are confident that both organisations will be better positioned to execute on their respective strategies under separate ownership," says Mikael Strand, Chairman of ThorSvecon Group and Associate Partner at Accent Equity.

In connection with the transaction, Daniel Berglind has been appointed Group CEO of ThorSvecon Group.

Mr. Berglind joined the group in 2020 through TSG's acquisition of Svecon Freight and has successfully led the development and expansion of the Global Forwarding business over the past six years.

"Daniel combines extensive industry experience with proven leadership and a strong commercial mindset. Under his leadership, TSG has significantly strengthened its Global Forwarding operations, and we are delighted that he will now lead the next phase of the group's development," says Mikael Strand.

Daniel Berglind, Group CEO of ThorSvecon Group, comments:

"This is an exciting new chapter for TSG. As a focused logistics group, we can dedicate all our attention and resources to developing our freight forwarding and port agency offering. We see attractive opportunities to continue growing both organically and through acquisitions, while our clearer market positioning will further strengthen our competitiveness and value proposition."
